and I have to admit it is kinda comforting to hear nothing else but the pounding beat of the rain hitting the pavement, or the smell of wet plants in the air.
It drowns out everything else, making me only aware of my immediate surroundings, meaning one has to be so-close to actually get my attention.
Who matters?
Who doesn't?
What matters?

I think that other than the daily chores and things that we are expected to do, these simple questions elude us, even though we are charged to find and search for such answer throughout our lives.
The best part is, it is simple enough, and yet the answer varies with the surrounding or company one keeps.
One would usually quote that what is necessary is deemed important.
But...
That would dictate which is good or bad? right or wrong? necessary or not?
Who is worth your time and effort, or otherwise?
Open that gold-filled mouth of ours to ask and prod to see who is, in fact, deserving of your presence?
For remember this line always:
"Your happiness comes first. Should another makes you feel otherwise, then that person is not a friend/special one"
Part on good terms, pull up a fight, confront the problem, all these are just a few of the many ways people choose to solve this problem.
All because their HAPPINESS comes FIRST
Knowing and managing that simple fact is the most important aspect of enjoying life.
For NO ONE enjoys doing something or being with someone that doesn't make him/her happy.
One may argue that things can work out, true enough.
But once the seed of uncertainty has taken root, it is hard to throw it away.
One can only get used to it.
For each memory and emotion that riddles us throughout life is like a seed planted onto a 'garden' that reflects who we are.
With each variety of seed, the garden flourishes and becomes beautiful with the different kinds of flowers and tress~
and yet, even though a seed that doesn't belong gets planted, it still grow in the garden, marking its significant present in the 'garden' of our lives~
You see, the plants that grow in our 'garden' are untouchable and not marred by the other plants that happen to be planted now or in the future.
What happens is that we refuse to accept that such a plant has grown in the garden, and by insisting that the plant is of a different seed, is in fact DENIAL to yourself and your happiness.
So do yourself a favor today people.
Look at the mirror, smile and rethink who/what does make you happy.
It may be the small things~
It may be the memories~
It may be the simple company of that someone~
It may be just that time when a dear friend helps out in your darkest hour~
It is simple enough, and yet people don't do such simple things these days.
Remember...
YOUR happiness COUNTS... not others~

Despite this constant rain pelting me with the rain being ever so merciless, I still hope that those that stand by me stay there. I don't ask much, I give what I can, and yet their numbers dwindle ever so much.
There seem to be no end to this rain, and for that I can only wait, and hope it passes...
